TREASURE BASKETS AND HEURISTIC PLAY
Treasure baskets are used to stimulate and interest children from birth to approximately 12 months of age. They are made us using completely natural resources that can be found around the house, and will stimulate all the senses of the children.

Heuristic Play is an adaption of treasure baskets and is used with children from the age of 12 months and upwards. Within heuristic play both natural and man made materials are used. However each item is chosen carefully ensuring it is safe and stimulating.

We feel that it is essential for children to be provided with healthy and well balanced meals and snacks in order for a healthy body and healthy mind.

At Petit Enfant the children are encouraged to develop good table manners by staff modelling expected behaviour at mealtimes and joining in with the children at the table.

Meals are cooked fresh by Oxfordshire county council’s ‘Food with thought’ who have been awarded the ‘Healthy Schools’ status. Further details are available at www.oxfordshire.gov.uk
